After a nail biting few months, it is our pleasure to announce that Abbeydale has taken over the lease on the Devonshire Cat on Wellington Street. We are absolutely delighted to be part of this Sheffield landmark and will strive to maintain the Devonshire Cat’s tradition of quality cask ales, keg and bottled beers and great pub food.

The "Tramlines" beer launch night started as you may expect any other Thursday to start in Sheffield; with intermittent downpours of Biblical proportion. We lucky few escaped the deluge and were pleasantly serenaded by a few of Sheffield's sprites under the roof of one of the steel cities' favourite institutions; The Harley.

On the 6th Jan 2013 BBC Radio Sheffield ran Clueless. Jenny - with the help of Howie - ran all over Sheffield following cryptic clues in search of treasure. Dan at Abbeydale Brewery handed out clue #2. But only in exchange for Jenny pulling a pint!!

Back in February 1999 the Angel beers made their first appearance. They were conceived as a pair of beers. Patrick, always the scientist, always the experimenter was interested to see just what difference adding roast barley made to the flavours in a beer with the same hops. So Archangel and Dark Angel came about. Each has the same hops in the same quantities but a different malt grist.
