Abbeydale Brewery Code of Conduct

This document is intended to introduce our Equal Opportunities and Diversity policy and our company culture to all employees, customers and stakeholders.

This Code of Conduct applies to all employees and any other individuals who may be representing the business at all times whilst on company property, on company time, and at company events (those affiliated with the business should refer also to the Abbeydale Brewery Events Policy which can be found in the Employee Handbook).

Abbeydale Brewery embrace, encourage and celebrate our employees’ and customers’ differences, and are dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion or belief, family status, political belief or trade union membership. We do not tolerate harassment or bullying of employees or customers in any form. We also support the Everyone Welcome initiative.

We are committed to the ongoing development of a working environment which is inclusive and which encourages respectful communication between all employees and customers, teamwork, a positive work/life balance, and employer and employee contributions to the communities we work within, to promote greater understanding and respect for diversity. We are dedicated to ensuring that all employees feel empowered, respected, and able to give of their best.

This commitment applies to all aspects of employment, including:

  • recruitment and selection, including advertisements, job descriptions, interview and selection procedures
  • training
  • promotion and career-development opportunities
  • terms and conditions of employment, and access to employment-related benefits and facilities
  • grievance handling and the application of disciplinary procedures
  • selection for redundancy

Equality, diversity and inclusion practice is developing constantly as social attitudes and legislation change. We will review all policies regularly and implement necessary changes where these could improve equality of opportunity.

All employees and customers of Abbeydale Brewery have a responsibility to uphold this code and treat others with courtesy and respect at all times, through all types of communication.

Repeated or severe violations of this code can and will be addressed by company management, and can lead to disciplinary action, including termination.

Abbeydale Brewery will treat seriously all complaints of discrimination made by employees, clients, customers, suppliers, contractors or other third parties and will take action where appropriate. Allegations regarding potential breaches of this policy will be treated in confidence and investigated thoroughly.

Employees who believe they have been subjected to discrimination of any form that conflicts with this code of conduct and/or our Equal Opportunities and Diversity policy are encouraged to report all instances. It may at times be difficult in choosing an appropriate person to report these issues to and we in no way wish to deter the reporting of any issues by sticking too rigidly to company structure. If appropriate, your line manager may be the first port of call, followed by the operations director, any of the directors or company secretary.  If you don’t feel comfortable with reporting to any of the previous, we encourage you to report to whoever you feel most appropriate.

Customers who have any concerns or complaints should contact us at [email protected].

We are committed to standing by these values in action.
